As soon as the holy month of Ramadan in Madhya Pradesh starts, a message is going viral on social media, in which only Muslim shopkeepers are being appealed to buy goods. This message has warmed the politics of the state. However, many people of Muslim society, calling it a wrong tradition, have said that they will not pay attention to such messages and thwart efforts to divide the society.
With the start of Ramadan, for the next 30 days, Rosadars will be engaged in the worship of Allah and will complete it with Eid. Meanwhile, in Bhopal, a campaign is being carried out to shop only Muslim shopkeepers from Muslims through mobile and social media. A 'X' user Ibrar Ahmed wrote, “Assalamalacum. The Happy month of Ramadan has come. Make shopping carefully, especially those who can celebrate Ramadan and Eid happily with your shopping.” Aaj Tak's team talked to many people in Bhopal, who showed such messages but said that they will not implement them.
Political uproar
Politics has also started on this message. BJP MLA and former Protem Speaker Rameshwar Sharma said, “When there is talk of Hindus to stop the shop in Kumbh, there is a lot of uproar. But why are these parties silent now?”
At the same time, the Congress described it as worrying. Mukesh Nayak, president of MP Congress Media Department, said, “In the last 10 years, the atmosphere has deteriorated so much that people are talking about shopping on the basis of religion. It is dangerous for the society.”
There was such an appeal earlier also
Last year, on Diwali too, there was an appeal to Hindus to buy 'Apna festival, with loved ones' with the hashtag' with the hashtag. Now, due to similar campaign coming out in Ramadan, there has been a debate on both sides. The BJP is linking it with the silence of the opposition, while the Congress is calling it a threat to social harmony.
Questions on brotherhood
Festivals are usually a symbol of brotherhood, but with such messages, efforts to divide the society have become a matter of concern. Social analysts say that it is necessary to curb such activities, otherwise social stress can increase. At present, this matter remains the center of discussion in Madhya Pradesh.
