Tamil nadu delimitation protest: The opposition is united on delimitation and this may make it difficult to the Narendra Modi government at the Center. Chief Minister MK Stalin says that this day will be historic for India's Indian Federalism. He released the video that states that have done well in terms of population increase and have contributed to the country's growth should not be punished by delimitation. Stalin said that delimitation would strongly attack every foundation of Federalism in India and end the meaning of democracy.

The meeting will start at 10 am at ITC Grand Chola Hotel in Chennai and will run till noon. During this time lunch will also be organized and a large number of leaders of opposition parties will join it. The meeting will attend the meeting respectively, Chief Ministers of Kerala, Telangana and Punjab, A Revant Reddy and Bhagwant Mann, Deputy Chief Ministers of Karnataka DK Shivkumar, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and big leaders of the Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
The TMC running the government in West Bengal was also invited to attend the meeting but the party has decided not to send any representative in it. All the states of the south are involved in the meeting but Andhra Pradesh will have no participation in it. The NDA government is running under the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu in Andhra Pradesh.

What is the main agenda of the meeting?
The major points of this meeting include the current framework of delimitation (based on the 1971 census) demanding to increase it for 30 years ahead, demanding reconsideration of the 2026 delimitation process and preparing a draft of the proposal related to it, making a legal challenge on any disturbance and conducting public awareness campaigns in the states affected by it.
Opposition to delimitation became a national movement- Stalin
Chief Minister Stalin said that Tamil Nadu pledged it and it has become a national movement. He said that states across the country are coming forward with it and in such a situation, it is just a movement by moving beyond the meeting. Telangana Chief Minister Revanant Reddy has also described this fight as a fight for Federal Equality. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar said that there is a need to rise above party politics.

What do the south states say?
The opposition has been an atmosphere for a long time regarding delimitation that the delimitation on the basis of census will create great difficulties for the southern states. According to him, this will not only reduce their Lok Sabha seats, their role will be weakened in making a policy and getting the budget and such states will benefit more.
