In Kerala, the Congress party mouthpiece 'Weksham Daily' has criticized Congress MP Shashi Tharoor for the statements made recently on Monday (February 17, 2025). An editorial has been published, in which the Kerala government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit has been objected to strict tone. Without naming Shashi Tharoor in editorial, he has been targeted to praise the development of Antarpreneurship in the Left Government of the state.

On Friday (February 14, 2025), Shashi Tharoor praised PM Modi's US visit, saying that the pictures that came out with Donald Trump seems to have resolved the problems and the results are good. He said that taking any decision in haste can affect exports. He also said that PM Modi must have protested against the behavior made with Indians during exile in front of Trump behind closed doors.

These statements of Shashi Tharoor have been criticized in the mouthpiece, it was written that PM Modi is not a great thing to embrace President Donald Trump and receive assurances in business-compound treaties. In the article, he was told that he should not break the expectations of thousands of party workers before the upcoming local body elections. The editorial written in strict words stated that there is an anti -incumbency wave in the state and the attempt to suppress it by those responsible for promoting it is a distorted political conduct.

This editorial was cleaned by Tharoor that he has not praised the CPI (M) -led government in Kerala, but has come only a day after the state's progress in the startup sector. Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram Tharoor on Sunday claimed that there was no political reference in his article published in an English daily and his focus was only on the development of entrepreneurship and innovation in Kerala, which aims to showcase the development of the state in that specific region Had to do

The party's mouthpiece appeared effectively rejecting his explanation. The editorial warns that if the Congress -led UDF failed to win the local body elections despite favorable conditions, it would be a major setback for the opposition front. He described any move to weaken his electoral prospects as 'ridiculous'. The editorial published under the 'Non -Violence Award for the Excise' has further argued that when the Congress is actively opposing the shortcomings of the LDF government inside and outside the assembly, it would be 'suicidal' to weaken the party from inside.

The article alleged that the ruling CPI (M) had made Kerala a cemetery of industries. It further wrote that citing the Left Government in the name of industrial development is ridiculous. It states that the state has seen the development of modern and important industrial establishments during the rule of former Chief Ministers like R Shankar, C Achyut Menon, K Karunakaran, AK Antony and Oom Chandy.

In the article, the efforts of former Kerala industry ministers PK Kunhaliyakutty, TV Thomas, K A Damodar Menon etc. have been highly praised by calling them 'futuristic'. The article also asked what special work has been done by the current industry minister (P Rajiv) compared to its predecessors. According to the editorial, “Praising those who destroy the agricultural and industrial areas of the state is as ridiculous as to give a 'Ahimsa Award” to a executioner.

The editorial has described this incident as a move to brighten their image of both leaders. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had targeted the opposition on Sunday, saying that Tharoor's article has rejected the propaganda of Congress -led UDF in Kerala. Kerala Congress President K.K. Sudhakaran, in his response to the issue, accused the Left Front government of exaggerating the data of small enterprises, but he did not name Tharoor.
